Actiris350 portable CMM selected by HONDA Japan 06-12-2006
Honda has acquired Actiris 350 for the vital role of R&D measurement of crash test deformation.
Honda's R&D department have sourced an Actiris350 portable CMM for the measurement of pre-crash and post-crash deformation of car bodies, requiring the ability to quickly measure points located anywhere on the vehicle.
Actiris350 was chosen to meet their critical needs of a highy mobile portable CMM system that is user-friendly and able to measure a whole car body without difficulties.
Excellent portability of the system is provided through several unique features that clearly differentiate it from other types of portable CMM's.
The total system weight of less than 10kg provides for it to be readily moved around by one person in a single case. The ability of the system to track datum points on the actual workpiece in real time means that the system does not require a heavy rigid mounting system or a fixed bolted location to delivery measurement accuracy. Further, the totally wireless handheld measurement probe delivers an unsurpassed ease of manipulation around large objects and inside door openings.
The system provides for direct model based definition inspection using Delcam PowerInspect metrology software.
