Hamar Multi-plane Geometrical Lasers Ideal for Aligning Large Precision Machine Tools
The Hamar range of multi-plane scanning lasers provides an unique tool for the fast and accurate levelling and alignment of large machine tools.
The extremely precise laser planes created by the scanning beams of the Hamar system provide an alignment reference that is flat to less than 0.005mm/metre. Combined with Hamar's wireless targets that are able to measure the laser beam position with a resolution as high as 0.0005mm, the laser datum plane allows machine beds and ways to be set to an unparalleled level of precision over lengths up to 60m.
As the scanning beam is visible over a full 360 degrees, the system is also extremely fast to set up and allows an entire machine bed including the guideways at each side to be measured and levelled in a single laser setup. The actual machine bed height or rail height at each jacking position is able to be measured precisely and adjusted against a live alignment reading provided by the wireless target directly to the hand-held alignment display.
Adjustable height spacers provided with each target allow parallel machine surfaces (such as guide ways) anywhere on the machine tool to be measured and set in the same alignment.
A target mounted on the machine spindle may also be traversed through the full plane of movement to confirm the level and straightness of axis motion at every part of the machine travel.
An outstanding feature of the Hamar system is the availability of up to three mutually perpendicular laser planes projected directly from the unit which are square to each other withing 1 arcsec (0.005mm/m).
Two perpendicular vertical planes and one horizontal plane allow the squareness of all machine tool axes to be measured both very easily and very accurately over the full travel length of each axis at the same time as checking the straightness of each individual axis.
The patented features of the Hamar multi-plane scanning laser system provide both an incredible level of accuracy for machine tool alignment as well as being fast to set up and allowing measurement of the complete machine geometry to be measured in a few hours. No other laser system is able to provide this combination of features.
